Idiot Ruins Amazing Soccer Game

Last night Denmark played their immediate neighbor Sweden in a crucial qualifying match only one team would advance from. The day started with a rude awakening of yellow and blue-clad Swedes beer-fortifying at 7am just outside my window. As the day went of the city was full of red and white clad Danes as well [...]

Next Weekend: Benson Hut!

Next weekend a group of us are hiking in to the Sierra Club’s Benson Hut, a sturdy mountain cabin at 8,350 feet about 6 miles south of Donner Pass. It’s a 4 mile hike from the the Mt Judah lift at Sugarbowl and offer access to what we hope will be some big fields of [...]

Txty Globo-Cultural-Voyeurism

Twitter is a SMS-oriented messaging service that allows one to make a group of friends you can send a single message to all at once they can get on their phone or computer. Two good friends Patrick and Cody climbed up and skiied down Mt. Rainer last weekend. They asked me to go about 100x times, but the vision of roping up, shifting crevasses and melting snowbridges made me decide otherwise.
Cody did an excellent job photo documenting, annotating and story telling … so good in fact [...]

4 Days in Shanghai - A Skyline Video

4 Days in Hong Kong - Some LowRes Videos

View of Hong Kong and Kowloon from Victoria Peak

The next day there was an article in newspaper about how nice it was to have a non-smoggy day, so I guess we got realy lucky with getting a clear view. Too bad [...]

4 Days in Hong Kong - Entry 2

Hong Kong has been like visiting New York City, if you had grown up in North Dakota. Eating, getting around, exploring, sight seeing have all been pretty much as your instincts suggest, but you never can actually expect how it’s going to be. I expected translation issues would be harder, but I didn’t expect to [...]
