Chocolate Rain Jumps the Fireline

Last night I spotted this Chocolate Rain graffiti on Grace St. in SF. Grace is in SOMA between 10th and 11th going from Mission to Howard.

It appears Chocolate Rain has “jumped the fireline”. In the same way a roaring wildfire can jump a fireline which was supposed to curtail it, an internet meme, in this case an obscure but compelling internet video, can jump from the web into the physical world.

I’m thinking there should be a blog dedicated to documenting memes that have jumped. What should the site be called. Fireline Jump? Jumping the Fireline? Line Jumpers?

Here’s the Chocolate Rain video:

And an example of the video meme evolution. Illdoctrine’s Radiohead remix.

I think you’re onto something here Ted.

However, now you’ve established the term, I think you might need to define it a bit more.

Does the “real world” mean the physical world like on the dumpster above or can it mean an appearance on MSM, much like Mr. Zonday’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
