I‘ve never been to New Orleans, but I’ve been listening to WWOZ’s live stream all day whistle high-stepping through my day .. hey now … HEY NOW!

I’ve been waiting for today to write about the new graphic novel on Smith Mag (presenters of the wicked, Shooting War). The story is called A.D. “New Orleans After the Deluge” and so far it’s telling the story of those city-changing days wordlessly and thoughtfully. I’m already gripping for episode 3.

“Bars are more common than grocery stores and churches,” he says. “But after the hurricane they became even more important.”
