Principal Dick Vernon, 80s Bad Guy

Dick Vernon, Principal, Breakfast Club Last night I went to a themed birthday party where everyone came dressed as an 80’s villain. It was pretty funny. I was thinking about being Ortho from Bettlejuice, but that guy was too sharp for my closet. So I went as Richard Vernon, the Principal of Shermer High School, home to The Breakfast Club.

I recall him being a jerk, but watching the movie again I realized what an arrogant hard-ass prick he was. So here’s a little walk down memory lane of the lows and lowers of a 80s bad guy, Dick Vernon.

But he was really a boob:

He as well as some classic lines in the movie. (click to hear wav files)

He’s a bum. You wanna see something funny, you go visit John Bender in 5 years, you’ll see how god damn funny he is.

I’m going to kick the living shit out of you man, I’m going to knock your dick in the dirt.

I’m a man of respect around here, they love me around her, I’m a swell guy. You’re a lying sack of shit and everybody knows it

My personal favorite:
You’re a gutless terd.

And the all-time classic:
Don’t mess with the bull young man, you’ll get the horns

And Molly, who did she go as? It was a geeky man’s dream come true. She was Pris, the Replicant Daryl Hannah played in Blade Runner

    Vice principal, I believe.

That’s what I originally thought too. Why would the principal spend all day overseeing detention? But his title in the movie is Principal.

Oh man, we should have discussed this over Chinese New Year dinner. Molly as Pris = HOT!

Not sure you guys (Ted and Molly) know how OCD I am about Blade Runner, LOL! I’ve watched each version too many times to count, hell I’ve even read BOOKS on the movie, LMAO. I can recite lines of entire scenes, “quite an experience to live in fear, isn’t it?” And oh man, the trivia is endless. I actually own a laser disc of the original theatrical release, YES, a LASER DISC, Lol…

Anyway, much kudos and props to Molly on the Pris front!!! And it was great seeing you guys at our CNY party, thanks for coming! The entertainment was top-notch this year too — you couldn’t pay for a performance like that. heh…

I’m sooooo jealous I didn’t get to see Mollris in the flesh–Pris and her back flips made that movie, and who else would be able to pull that vibe off but MGL, yo.
