The Firefox2 browser has a built-in spellchecker. It rules. I especially love that ignore HTML except for sentence-oriented fields like ALT text.

* I just realized you can right-click to see a list of suggestion spellings or add it to the dictionary.

* I also learned you can add your own dictionary if you want to edit the Firefox config file.

NEEDED: What I really really would like is to get the spell checker to run on text fields as well as text areas.

Finally, Mike Migurski clued me in to the fact that there are desktop apps that will spellcheck everything you write in any application. Apple’s is built into OS X (which I really must try as I suppose it would resolve my text field need) tinySpell is windows freeware.
