Ken Mehlman, outgoing RNC Chairman has been publicly outted for having a non-approved sexuality.

The righteous Right has been proclaiming to be the party of the pure but they are no different than any other part of society. Lies are swell to say and a bitch to eat, bitches The thing is, in this day and age, you can’t be a Roy Cohn. We no longer live with privacy and your actions can hardly been hidden in your lifetime anymore. Gay staffers, lobbyist, speech writers and politicians walk through the Congressional Halls and White House every day. They are our neighbors, coworkers, friends, family members and lovers.

Cowards like Tom Foley, Ken Mehlman, Ted Haggard and James McGreevey wished for years they could share their differences and speak with others to find their place in society. They are cowards, but in the end probably people just like us. People that could be truly wonderful people if they could be themselves, people that waste all their beauty keeping an unnecessary secret.

Let’s just all accept that we are all born different and move on as the society of people that we are and not what we aren’t. Time and again nature and history has proven the best and strongest organic structures are those that are the most diverse while the most homogenous collections are the weakest.
