Wasn’t no Taquitos in Chaffing Dishes

I was invited to the August Ventures Annual last night. It was a swell affair.

August Ventures Trout
I think the trout sums it up nicely. This was no taquito-in-chaffing-dishes grabfest. I even got to joke at the end “I am getting so tired of waiting in valet parking lines.”

I saw two people last-named Haas, quite a few Façonnable shirts and even more documented millionaires.

I saw Louis Rosetto, Wired co-Founder, who interviewed me for an assistant position in 1996. Turned out it was for a personnal assistant job, but it was one of the cooler interviews in my life. We talked about punch card programs he worked on in college and he took me seriously.

I also saw Kevin Arnold of IODA and NoisePop. I met Kevin in 2001 at the Bottom of the Hil on my very first date with Molly back when they both worked at listen.ass. About six-months later I put together he was the guy who one of my first San Francisco friends was dating back in 1993. At that time I made $16,500 a year working for CCIT and budgetted myself to $2 a lunch.

Thanks David and VE for the invite.
