I like the looks of this. Podbop will show you bands it know are coming to play in your town and offers deep links to hear one or two of their tracks. Of course there is an RSS feed for e-z daily check-ins. Cities support and bands found are still incomplete, but I really like the potential of this.

I actually have plans for a related service. I’m not sure if I’d make mine public, but I’m going to write a service that will allow me to enter bands I’d like to see and venues they are likely to play at and check those venue websites each day to see if my bands are playing there. I’m really hatin’ having to miss the Yeah Yeah Yeahs because I don’t read the weeklies or pink pages. You can hear their new single at mp3.com, along with the Flaming Lips (which I did get tixs to, THX MGL) and the super-fun Morningwood who have yet to visit but nu-rule the the Nth degree.
