Trucks Not Advised

This morning a truck ran out of control one block over taking out 2 cars and a telephone pole. We didn’t hear it, but realized something was up when our power went out. A call to PG&E told us 83 residents had just lost power.

A couple minutes later I headed off to work and a neighbor from across the street- a heavyset women in her mid-50s I hadn’t met before - imploringly asked if our power was also out. I confirmed it was. Then with even more concern she screamed out, “is my hard drive ruined?” I told her it wasn’t. ;)

You’re looking at a crappy pix of the truck. That’s a crushed Volvo sedan beneath which ended it’s life as a giant brake pad saving neighbors hundreds of thousands in property damages. You can see the clipped telephone pole leaning back against the top of the truck and the black VW Beetle that acted as front bumper padding. There was an unscratched Solano just 3 inches from the Beetle.

The signage photo above is from the street the out-of-control truck came careening down.

Here are some pixs taken with a real camera.
